Hi Folks,

We have several questions about the configuration of MQSI:

1. If User Name Server (UNS) is not installed initially as publish / subscribe is not needed, will there be an entire re-installtaion or re-configuration to "add" it in the system at later stage?

2. In the performance tuning, it seems the increase of number of brokers, execution groups and additional instances seem serve the same purpose. Is there any guidelines and principle to determine which factors should tune up?

3. If the broker database resides on a remote server, will there any serious performance issue encountered?

Thanks,
Iris

No. This can be added at any stage

It all really depends on whether you're adding more brokers to the same machine or not for the brokers question, else increasing executions groups should suffice for most instances. Increasing instances (I assume you mean threads) should be for high volume transactions).

3. If the broker database resides on a remote server, will there any serious performance issue encountered?

No, as most of it is loaded into cache at broker startup. Different question as to the application database being remote from the broker. This all depends on how good your network is rather than implicit problems with the broker.

Hope this helps
