Hi,
Just got done doing a fresh install of MQSeries 5.2 on a HP-UX box...When I try to do the CRTMQM -q qmgrname I get an AMQ7153 error. I have checked all of the permissions on the nodelock object and parent directories; all are owned/writable by user mqm.
One thing different about the install is that we use HP service guard, so we configure the boxes so that the queue manager-specific objects are placed under a file system mount point (/var/mqm/qmgrname). I have done this on other boxes without problem (with earlier versions of MQ, anyway). For reference, the changes to mqs.ini are:
DefaultPrefix=/var/mqm/qmgrname
and
LogDefaultPath=/var/mqm/qmgrname/log
Any thoughts on why I would be getting the AMQ7153???

Well the easist suggestions is to change the mqs.ini file back to the default location and use the command line switches to crtmqm

You got me pointed in the right direction. The solution was:
cd /var/mqm/qmgrname
mkdir qmgrs
chmod 775 qmgrs
mkdir log
chmod 775 log
cd qmgrs
mkdir @SYSTEM
chmod 775 @SYSTEM
Then I ran the crtmqm, and everything worked fine.
