I need to install a messaging system in this environment:

*A central site, with an AS/400 and DB2
*Several, distributed sites using POS's, managed by a controller server using OS/4690

Kind of the thing is to check some of the items registered by the POS, send them to DB2 on AS/400 to check some criteria, and return an answer to the POS's...
All programming will be done using Java. I've thought putting MQServer in the AS/400, and install MQe Retail in the 4690 controller. The interface from 4690 to MQe is almost done and working. I've worked a bit with MQ, but never done anything like what i've described, or related with MQe.

If anyone has done something related:

Is this a suitable arquitecture configuration?
What problems could I find?
