We would like to be able to access our message sets from a MQ Message in WMQI. We would like to use MQSI as a repository and store each message format as a C structure (seeing as though we need to import them for transformation anyhow). Then would like to be able to retrieve the structures in any format. So say we import all our C structures for each Server Message but one of our clients wants to send it's messages as a COBOL Copybook or XML, we would like to send an 'admin' message to a queue used by WMQI to retrieve a particular structure in the required format. Basically would like to use WMQI to generate our Cobol or XML formats from the given C structure.

Is it possible to use the compute node (or a custom node) to generate the actual C struct, XML doc, or COBOL Copybook from a particular Message Set?

Hope this makes sense to someone.

Any comments appreciated.

No, I don't think it's possible to create copybooks, DTDs etc. from a message flow. But, you could generate them in Control Center and store in a DB, which will be accessed in a message flow at run-time.
