Could be that MQSeries ISN'T supported on XP!
Might want to read the documentation!

I think IBM hasn't official started supporting MQSeries on Windows XP but it may not be that different b/w 2000 and XP. I would skip default configuration and try to create a queue manager using MQ Explorer or through command line.

Actually I tried that also. I skipped default configuration and opened Explorer and tried to create a queue manager, it just hangs and when I reboot the m/c and go back agaian to the explorer, I see the qmgr but I cannot do anything.

I actually checked in a log file where it keeps it all the actions that it is doing. The lst statement that comes in it is something like, it is checking for administrator's right and then it says "IsAuthority = true" and after that nothing else.
No error is noted in the eventlog. And about .fdc I am not sure but I can look at it.

I was wondering if it has something to do with network access. As my m/c is standalone, it doesn't have a network card, would that be a problem?????????
