All,

Applications folks are intermittently getting 2188 RC. I looked up a 2188 in the Message & Codes Manual and it says the Cluster Workload Exit rejected a MQOpen or MQPut.

I've looked through the system logs <EventViewer & JobLog> but I see no reference about a 2188 ever occurring. Does something have to turned on, particularly on the NT side to monitor or display those types of events.

I'm at a loss to whats causing this.

Thanks,

Offshore

As far as I can see we only ever issue that return code if you have a work load manager cluster exit, and it has returned MQXCC_SUPPRESS_FUNCTION.

So the first thing to do is look to see if you have such an exit, the second would be to add your own logging code in it to see under what circumstances it returnes this r/c.

JasonE,

Thanks for the response.

This is happening in our test & acceptance environments.

The test environment does have the MC76 exit installed for cluster channel priority. The acceptance doesn't have an exit defined.

Would starting a trace help anything? I'm not on the applications side, but systems side?

Thanks,

Yes, a trace covering one of the return codes would show where it is comming from. Do it in the acceptance one - since you believe you dont have a workload exit - I rechecked the code and I can only see it comeing from the WLM exit.

If you get one and want me to take a look, pm me and I'll send you my email addr. Start by searching for rfxCallWLM and look at the return codes. (Note we only get into that routine with a loaded wlm exit).
