Another question from me

I am doing some SQL query inside compute node, and as my understanding, you must "add" the ODBC datasource. I was able to connect to a local DB2 database and it works.

But I need to retrieve data on a JDE (DB2) machine which I use IBM Client Access Express ODBC driver. In this driver it does not allow me to supply a password. And I don't see anywhere in MQSI (compute node) that i can specify a username and password. Therefore the message flow fails, and lock up the broker, which then I've to reboot my machine (can't stop the BK service).

Any suggestion of how I can supply username and password for the ODBC in MQSI?

Thanks,
Tin

You don't specify a userid/password on the odbc connection. MQSI uses what you specified as the DataSourceUserID and DataSourcePassword when you created the broker. If you don't specify these, it will use the ServiceUserID and ServicePassword from the broker create.

You are right.

I was able to connect to AS400 using native IBM DB2 ODBC driver, but the data are not translate correctly to CCSID 65535. Unfortunately, MQSI fails to connect using IBM Client Access Express ODBC AS400, which has the translation option.

Regardless, thanks.. at least I got a connection.

If you have not already done so you need to change the profile on the AS400 to have a CCSID value of 285 for English or 037 for US english. then you will get correct mapping.
