I compiled pymqi on one of my AIX systems (I have to do Linux too). I tar/gz's up the pymqi directory under Python3.8/site-packages. I took it over to an AIX system without pymqi but has Python3.8. I untar'd and unzipped the directory under site-packages. Then I made site-packages directory and everything under it readable and executable by Group and Other. the permissions were the same as what I needed to do after a 'build/install' of pymqi.

I ran my MQ.py script and I am still getting 'import pymqi' NOT FOUND.

What am I missing. When I get to the install in production I am not going to be able to build and install the pymqi packages because it requires a compiler.

in the setup.py under pymqi asking --help-commands I see

'register'. Do I need that?

Don't know much about Python, but I guess the system is asking you to register the newly deployed package with the rest of the python system? ...

yes, I did stick my neck out and ran that command. It looked like it was trying to do some online registration.
