Hi,

I installed MQ v9 on my win 10 desktop. My account name is "user".

C:\Users\user>whoami
desktop-e9oss4i\user

I tried to run the below setmqaut command. but it threw error.

C:\Users\user>setmqaut -m B -t queue -n QL.B -g user +connect
AMQ7097E: You gave an authorization specification that is not valid.

Can someone pls help me with this. I am trying to learn this stuffs thanks in advance.

An app MQCONNects to a qmgr, not a queue (QL.B). +connect is not valid for a queue object.

Table 2. Specifying authorities for different object types - lists object types and authorizations that are valid (YES or NO) https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/ibm-mq/8.0?topic=commands-setmqaut#q083500___q083500_2

The -g flag expects a valid group name. Unless you have a group called "user" you probably want to use the -p flag instead.
