Hi All,

We have an existing connectivity option: MQ server(our side where application is deployed) to MQ Server (other side- existing central system) to exchange the messages.

Now we have to exchange the messages to a new central system which has MQ Server Infrastructure at their side but they want us to use MQ client library to connect remotely to MQ servers(at new central system)

We want to reuse our existing MQ server infrastructure to connect MQ server of new Central system.

Would it be possible to reuse our existing MQ server to connect with MQ Server of New Central System without using MQ client library. If yes, then how can this be done. Please share the detail with sample.

We are using MQ V9.0.5

Thanks,
mk

Standard distributed queuing.

Has the 'new central system' justified why they want this topology?

Sensible reuse of existing MQ infrastructure, unless switching to MQ Client is a cost-saving measure (see previous comment).

Yes, provided that all network-related requirements are met, e.g. firewall rules etc.

In the same manner that you are already achieving this with your current queue-manager-to-queue-manager infrastructure.

Er, no, not without knowing the full details of your topology, standards, and security requirements etc., and how much to charge for the service

If you do end up using MQ Client-to-Queue-Manager connections, use the latest version of MQ Client.

Thanks exerk,

Sorry, I wanted to ask even the new central system supports only MQI Client to MQ Server connectivity, Can we still connect through existing MQ Server to MQ Server.

What do you mean by this statement? Do you mean that RCVR channels are not allowed and only SVRCONNs will be defined perhaps?

Certainly if there are no RCVRs defined that you can connect to, then you can't make a qmgr-qmgr connection.

Cheers,
Morag
