Hi Community,

I am running IIB10. I use EmailInput Node to retrieve mails from a mail provider (Microsoft 365).

I am using IMAPS, and I can successfully retrieve my messages. Today´s behavior is that I get the message and it disappears from the Inbox of the Mailbox. Now my business asks me to let a copy of the Mail on server. So the desired behavior is to either
- retrieve the Mail, let it on the server, marked as Read
- Create an "Archive" folder in the mailbox, where I could copy the Mails I retrieve.

I am pretty sure that none of the options can be realized with standard EmailInput Node behavior. Did I miss something?

Thanks for Your help
Werner

I'm pretty sure you're right. I'm unconvinced (but prepared to be corrected) that IMAPS itself allows message browsing.

If it was me (and clearly it isn't), I'd set a rule up on the mail server to copy all the inbound emails into the Archive folder as they arrive rather than do it in IIB.

I'd also question the business need driving this. Why does the business need this copy? What use does it serve? If they're trying to prove that a given email was received, why not an audit log from IIB?

Who are we if we question all business requirements ?

Anyhow, as Vitor suggested, we solved it via a "CopyToArchive" rule in the Mailbox.

Professionals looking to help the business?

Imagine if they asked for a copy of the emails to be kept because they required an audit trail. Having a human or some kind of script wading through an Exchange server parsing the text is an inferior solution and the business might have asked for that because they're not broker-savvy enough to understand it can produce the information they want. They pay us to be broker (and tech) savvy.
