I just installed IIB Toolkit 9.0.0.1 on my laptop running on RHEL 7.5 But when I try to open the same, the toolkit crashes. I looked at the javacore dump and found something as following..

Please someone help me on what should I do to get this error fixed.

Also, how can I check if the toolkit which I installed is a 32 bit or 64 bit ?

Best Regards,

Use something less pre-historic than 9.0.0.1. Like 9.0.0.10, or better still 10.0.0.anything or 11.0.0.anything.

Is there such a thing as a 32 bit Linux Toolkit?

Integration bus in our Production is still on 9.0.0.1 and hence I wanted to have a toolkit of the same version.

By 32/64 bit I meant the "32/64 bit eclipse".

Vitor, can you please share the link to get a 9.0.0.10 toolkit from?

That makes sense. What doesn't make sense is running Production on 9.0.0.1

9.0.0.3 is considered the earliest stable version of IIBv9.

I know. I thought all the Linux Toolkits were 64 bit.

It's a 9.0.0.1 Toolkit with FP10 applied.

But as you said, you don't want to be too far in advance of your elderly, unstable, unmaintained Production version.

Until last month, I was able to launch/develop/debug flows on the same toolkit BUT my laptop was running on RHEL 6.8 then.

Vitor, Do you think a missing library as indicated by the following line in the javacore dump could be causing toolkit to not come up ?

1XHEXCPMODULE Module: /lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0
1XHEXCPMODULE Module_base_address: AC9D1000

I'm the last person on this forum who should comment on anything Java related.

But 9.0.0.1 was released a year before RHEL 7 and so it would never have been tested on it. Thus, it may be that RHEL 7.0 -> 7.5 has consolidated some functions resulting in the removal of a library 9.0.0.1 is counting on.

This is the classic problem of running increasingly out of date software on increasingly modern platforms. Imagine the fun you'll have when you patch the Production platform and the runtime won't start.

(Unless you're not patching Production, in which case I admire the nerve of whoever's in charge of managing corporate risk).

Got it.. I think my best bet would be now to have 9.0.0.10 installed and see it running on my RHEL7 machine to ascertain OLDER vs NEWER versions behavior.

Thank You Vitor. I ll try this out now and keep you updated.
