Hello,
On MQ 8.0.0.8 I've created an MQTT channel. Eventhough the service is running I can't delete the cannel. The error is "object unknown".
However I can display it:

DISPLAY CHL(SYSTEM.DEF.MQTT) TYPE(MQTT)
...
CHANNEL(SYSTEM.DEF.MQTT) CHLTYPE(MQTT)
TRPTYPE(TCP) PORT(1883)
LOCLADDR( ) MCAUSER( )
USECLTID(NO) BACKLOG(4096)
DESCR( ) SSLCIPH( )
SSLCAUTH(NEVER) SSLKEYP( )
SSLKEYR( ) JAASCFG( )
PROTOCOL(MQTTV3,MQTTV311,HTTP)
DELETE CHL(SYSTEM.DEF.MQTT) TYPE(MQTT)
3 : delete CHANNEL(SYSTEM.DEF.MQTT) CHLTYPE(MQTT)
AMQ8227: Channel SYSTEM.DEF.MQTT not found.

Nothing to see in any logfile.. no FDC thrown.
Is this PMR stuff or am I missing something ?

Cheers,

Gerhard

Did you stop the MQTT service (listener) first?

That's the tricky bit, the service has to be running in order to access any MQTT object. If I stop the service I also get an Channel ... not found when I try to display it.

if you want to delete it you will have to stop the service first.
And in order to see it you might have to add the type.

Don't delete system objects. Create a new one with type(MQTT) and delete it afterwards...

I'm not 100% sure but I think there is actually no SYSTEM.DEF.MQTT channel. It was suggested by the knowledge center's MQTT example to create it. (Of course I can't find it now ) but somewhere here : https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSFKSJ_7.5.0/com.ibm.mm.tc.doc/tc00130_.htm

I've tried both deleting it with the service running and with the service stopped with the same results.

The actual problem is that dumpmqcfg (all) will throw an error when the mqtt service is not running and there is any mqtt object existing, including SYSTEM.DEF.MQTT.

Anyway I've opened a PMR. Let's see what IBM says.

Cheers,

Gerhard
