Hi,

I need some inputs for configuring two phase commit.

Setup :
1. IIBv10.0.0.13 and MQv8.0.0.10
2. DB2 is on iSeries - v6R1L1

3. IIB is configured in Multi-Instance fashion.
[So, IIB Node and MQ QMs are on same machine]

4. Installed and configured DB2 client on the machines where IIB/MQ are running.

We are able to establish connectivity and all.

Now - we want to ensure - two phase commit is implemented.
I am following this link
https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSMKHH_10.0.0/com.ibm.etools.mft.doc/ae83285_.htm

As we are using ODBC to connect and have configured DB2 cleint [DB2Connect]

The document [https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSMKHH_10.0.0/com.ibm.etools.mft.doc/ac00396_.htm] says to configure MAX_CONNECTIONS and SPM_NAME on DB2 client.

Question : Do we need to do any changes on the DB2 server side? [On iSeries] ? Or just making changes and configuring DB2 Connect on the host where IIB is also running - we can make DB2 running on iSeries part of 'XA transaction'?
[We need to do changes on MQ - QM side - off course]

Per client, making any changes on DB2 serverside [iSeries] would be very difficult [process wise] and if that is not needed - we would like to avoid it and get the work done via DB2 connect client [ which is installed on IIB box]

Kindly advice/guide/provide pointers.

Regards,
Vishnu.
