Hi,

We have a TCPIP implementation using "TCPIP Client Output" and "TCPIP Client Receive" nodes. Our version of IIB is 10.0.0.8.

We are sending a ISO message over TCP IP node to the server. The timeout set in both the nodes is 25 Secs. The timeout set on the TCP Server application is 20 Secs. The flow is a Sync flow with HTTP Input and Reply. The timeout at flow level is 30 Secs (HTTP Input node). We have multi instance of flow running (10 instances) and multiple connections opened with TCP Server (100 connections)

When we test with less number of messages (10-20 messages) we do not face any issues and the Sync flow works as expected. But when we test with more than 50 messages we are facing "No data on Connection" error for at-least 10% of messages.

I went through this forum for related error and found no real solution for this issue. The closest to my query was here. But this thread ends by saying its a product bug and a PMR had fixed it. So I presume with the latest version, this problem would have been addressed long back.

Any idea on why this error? I am getting the user trace for this error and will post that shortly. We are yet to analyse the TCP dump, but there should not be any connection issues as many transactions are working fine. Only 10% transactions fails with this problem.

The problem gets resolved only when we do a EG restart. The property set on the TCPIP nodes is "Close connection on timeout".

Sounds as if it's PMR time.

Finally have some update.

The problem was that, the TCP server application had multiple ports opened at their end. The request was sent from IIB in one port (and IIB was waiting in that port for the response), but the TCP server responded back in a different port. Since IIB did not get the response in the expected port until the timeout defined, it throws a "No data on connection" error.

The TCP server have updated their config now to receive and respond back in the same port and the problem is resolved.
