Are all in RUNNING state?

Did you alter the child qmgr QMGR attribute to specify PARENT(parentname )?

Has this pub/sub hierarchy worked before?

This might help https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSFKSJ_7.5.0/com.ibm.mq.pla.doc/q005330_.htm

It's a short how-to for creating a hierarchical pub/sub. Did you follow these instructions?

If not, what instructions did you follow?

At what point did you receive the error you posted?

I follow the second approach of setting direct channels with the xmitQ having the same name as the target QMGR.
