Hello.
We are unable to get MQ FP 8.0.0.8 working on Windows 2008R2 MSCS enabled multi-instance queuemanager with circular logging.
One of the queuemanagers , running circular logging works fine after applying fp 8.0.0.8.
The one were having issues with has linear logging.
Problem presents itself with loads of :
Event Name: APPCRASH
Response: Not available
Cab Id: 0

Problem signature:
P1: amqrmppa.exe
P2: 8.0.800.17325

All client channels get started and then "connection broken " happens on all of them.

Anyone else experienced anything similair with FP 8.0.0.8?

Is the queue manager MSCS or MI? I've not heard of one being both!

Has the FixPack been applied to both nodes, and those nodes rebooted?

Hello.
Current FP level i 8.0.0.5
MI , yes. Two Queuemanagers running in same installation.
But also MSCS enabled active/passive or active/active node depending on what node we choose to run the queuemanagers on.

Fixpack only applied to one node.
(Paused inactive node in Cluster Admin manager, installed FP, rebooted, did the setmqinst -n InstallationName1 -i and rebooted)
After the above we failed over the active node (Running MQ 8.0.0.5) to the updated (8.0.0.7) node and things went really bad.

If you don't mean IBM's multi-instance solution (which as my associate points out is an alternative to MSCS) what do you mean by this?

Ok, then i misunderstood.
Were running two Queuemanagers, both MSCS enabled.
Cluster is built on two nodes, running Windows 2008R2.
MQ fp level was 8.0.0.5 prior to attempting fixpack 8.0.0.8 installation.

The one were having issues with has linear logging.

Did this MI config work successfully at 8.0.0.5, specifically one qmgr with circular logging and the other with linear logging?

Other than applying 8.0.0.8, what has changed?

Roll out the FixPack, swing the resource groups back to the rolled-out node and check all works OK, then apply the FixPack to the other node and see if you get the same result.

If you do, open a PMR.

See this IBM security bulletin ->
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg22012983

We had to stop rolling out 8.0.0.8 due to the above issue. Since 8.0.0.9 should be coming out soon, we are just skipping 8.0.0.8. I do not like to install with an iFix.

Well. Windows update patches for February 2018 were installed prior to fix pack attempt was done .(with reboot in between ofc)
Tried update and swing resources to updated node ,that's when the channel pool service started to go crazy on the queue manager with linear logging.
The queue manager with circular logging worked fine.
I smell a PMR cooking.

You are welcome. I am surprised IBM was able to get the original 8.0.0.8 fixpack through their QA testing. We couldn't even get it onto our initial test environment without having to immediately back it out due to that APAR in the security bulletin.

Agree.
The frequency of "iFixes" has increased lately.
Hope it will not stay so .
