Hi All,

We have an external application OAG connecting (or will be) into MQ (8 or more likely at the minute 7.5).

At the moment I do not know anything about OAG or how it connects in terms of configuration etc.

Whilst waiting to find more information about OAG (believe they will be using JMS exposed queues), if we decided to use a LoadBalancer to introduce a single VIP, what do you guys configure or your network team configure to monitor the status of MQ is it just a simple Port Scan of MQ?

Thanks in advance

When you say "external", do you mean externally hosted?

Otherwise it's just another application in your network.

If it is externally hosted, then you have the usual security considerations, firewalls etc.

Externally = meaning just another application, what i am trying to find out really (and didnt need to quote the app thinking about it) is if people are using LoadBalancers and what they have configured on the LB for monitoring MQ availability in terms of Port available, or if it can be done some kind of channel heartbeat etc...

Just trying to find advice on LB's whilst scouring the web and trying to get hold of our network team

Regards
