Hi masters, I am starting to make some POC on migration some installations from V8 to IIB9, I already have install all the assets that were installed in v8 in iib9 and worked fine.
But some clients do not want to install everything again, and want the option of migration without re installing everything.

So I have created a very simple boker v8 and I am trying to use the mqsimigratecomponents, to upgrade the whole broker. I have read the infocenter, and some presentations and trying to do it. I would like to here some experiences and pieces of advice from you:

Broker: V8.0.0.7
SO: Linux

1) stop and backup WMB 8.0.0.7 broker.
2) Install IIB 9.0.0.5 binaries (different path - e.g. /opt/IBM/mqsi/9.0.0.5).
2.1) Now I ´ve got /opt/IBM/mqsi/8.0.0.7 and /opt/IBM/mqsi/9.0.0.5 and all the profile loadead with 8.0.0.7
so when I type:

Quote:
[mqsiuser@migration-test ~]$ mqsilist
BIP1285I: Broker 'BK8' on queue manager 'QM8' is stopped.
BIP8071I: Successful command completion.

3) Change que profile from 8.0.0.7 to 9.0.0.5 and login with that profile:
Quote:

[mqsiuser@migration-test ~]$ mqsilist
BIP1281I: No brokers have been defined on this machine.
BIP8071I: Successful command completion.

4) pre-migration check of the specified component. (mqsimigratecomponents -c BK8)

Quote:
[mqsiuser@migration-test ~]$ mqsimigratecomponents BK8 -c
BIP8849I: Broker 'BK8' (Version 8.0) with Queue Manager 'QM8' and Data Source '' specified for migration.
BIP8680I: Pre-migration check succeeded.
BIP8071I: Successful command completion.

5) Now I want to start the migration

Quote:
[mqsiuser@migration-test ~]$ mqsimigratecomponents BK8 -s 8.0.0.7 -t 9.0.0.5 -v
BIP8849I: Broker 'BK8' (Version 8.0) with Queue Manager 'QM8' and Data Source '' specified for migration.
BIP8700I: Post-migration check started.
BIP8701I: Post-migration check succeeded.
BIP8071I: Successful command completion.

6) Now I have to start BK8 with the 9.0.0.5 installation, but the broker is still not visible:
Quote:

[mqsiuser@migration-test ~]$ mqsilist
BIP1281I: No brokers have been defined on this machine.
BIP8071I: Successful command completion.

I have to be misunderstanding something, but I was hopping to see the migrated broker and could start it and be able to see all the EGs and deployed flows and resources...

Thanks you very much in advance!

So you did a pre and post migration check.
When did you do the migration?
Did you try
Code:
mqsimigratecomponents BK8 -s 8.0.0.7 -t 9.0.0.5

before running the post migration check?

Hope it helps
