My requirement is to pick up the file/files from FTP and place in any other location with the same name ??? Could anyone suggest me ideas how to do this??

I haven't started yet to get any problem. i just wanted some ideas like hw to initiate that. how can we replace the file/ files in output location with the same name?

Have a look at the FIleInput and FileOutput nodes, they have this capability.

If by hw you mean hardware, then you posted in the wrong forum

As mentioned by my esteemed colleague, you can use the FileInput/Output nodes to do this.

It's probably, or almost certainly, a bad idea to do this.

then I would have thought a shell script / bat file would be the easiest way.

If you have a bunch of requirements for moving files between FTP servers without fiddling with the data inside, take a look at MQ FTE. A much sharper, streamlined solution for file transfers..

I always feel bad when IIB is used primarily for FTP transfers. Its like asking Houdini to do pull a penny from behind the ear trick.
