This is in Solaris 10 servers...
The server with MQ7.1 and charmap of 646 has default QMGR CCSID of 819
But another server with MQV8 with same charmap(646) has CCSID 1208
Is this is normal? Just wanted to make sure that all is good. I realize that 1208 is utf-8. But not sure why V7.1 was picking unix specific 819 where as V8 is picking up standard utf-8
Safer,
Is there anyway I can check that? The thing is locale is all set to 'C' in both servers(mqm user).
And locale charmap is showing 646 in both servers. I don't know what other variables are there that would effect CCSID
Could also be that qmgrs created in MQ8 have CCSID 1208 by default on certain platforms... or that it was changed after creation... _________________ MQ & Broker admin
yeah could be. This shouldn't cause any problems right? This QMGR connects to Mainframe as well. Hope the existing message conversion will continue to work.
And nopes, 1208 is indeed the default . I confirmed this by creating a test qmgr.
