MQ V8 on linux

We follow the steps the remove QM1 from cluster(CLUS1)

1. suspend QM1
2. alter clusrcvr chl to cluster('')
3. alter clussdr chl to cluster('')
4.Stop cluster rcvr
5. stop clussdr
6 delete the clsurcvr and clusdr to cleanup

This was done with no problem

However when we display QM1 under the FR the entry is still there

dis clusqmgr(QM1) cluster(CLUS1)
3 : dis clusqmgr(QM1) cluster(CLUS1)
AMQ8441: Display Cluster Queue Manager details.
CLUSQMGR(QM1) ALTDATE(2015-09-23)
ALTTIME(20.50.4 BATCHHB(0)
BATCHINT(0) BATCHLIM(5000)
BATCHSZ(50) CHANNEL(TO.QM1)
CLUSDATE(2015-10-02) CLUSTER(CLUS1)
:
QMID(QM1_2015-09-23_16.10.50) QMTYPE(NORMAL)
:
STATUS(STOPPED) SUSPEND(YES)
TPNAME( ) TRPTYPE(TCP)
USEDLQ(YES) USERID( )
VERSION(07050002) XMITQ(SYSTEM.CLUSTER.TRANSMIT.QUEUE

Since it shows suspend(yes) and status(stopped) , I think we are OK. However I think the info center says that the entry should disappear.

Just to make us feel better, we decided to use the reset cluster forceremove to see if we can remove the entry.

RESET CLUSTER(CLUS1) ACTION(FORCEREMOVE) QMID ('QM1_2015-09-23_16.10.50')

However the entry still there after the reset remove. Is this normal ?

Well you may have acted too fast for the cluster or too quickly.
#1 you did not specify if you set all the clustered queues on the qmgr to cluster(' ') clusnl(' ')
And you should have done that before removing it from the cluster.
The problem is that you may still have messages in an Cluster XMITQ for the now removed qmgr...
As long as you have messages on the Cluster XMITQ for that qmgr on one of the FR's it's going to be really difficult to remove the reference...
When suspending a qmgr, before removing it, keep the cluster channels running and remove the queues from the cluster. Then let it sit for a while (depends on size of the cluster). Check the logs (no channel seq number discrepency on cluster channels?) and finally you are good to remove the qmgr from the cluster...

The entry might be in a to-be-deleted state that does not reflect through the public interface.

Did you restart the FR queue manager, as this might help with such a state?

Otherwise I think opening a PMR is the way to go.
