Hi, Guys

Quick question, we are currently implementing a cluster setup with a vendor and we are using MQIPT in between on our DMZ.

MQ (Internal Network) <--> DMZ MQIPT <--> MQ (Vendor)

Both MQ servers doesn't have direct connection to each other.

I know that both MQ server needs to set their CLUSRCVR the hostname:IP of the MQIPT where it listen for connection pointing to the qmgr.

I just want to confirm if both CLUSRCVR set their to a DNS alias, does the IP translation happen on the local MQ server.

Let say we have the following IP setup.

Internal:
mqiptdns: 172.x.x.x

Vendor:
mqiptdns: 201.x.x.x

Internal MQ: conname('mqiptdns(2000)')
Vendor MQ: conname('mqiptdns(3000)')

Will the IP translation happen on the local server if using DNS as connames?

TIA

This is a weird set up... Why would you want to span a cluster with a customer?

On top of what FJ said, I can't wrap my brain around how a cluster would operate with MQIPT in the middle of it.

This is a design guaranteed to involve many sleepless night....

in some earlier version books (V6?) there was an example on how to set up a cluster with MQIPT...
