All,

Is anyone still running MQ on HP-UX PA-RISC? (not HP-UX IA64)

My build & test HP-UX PA-RISC server has died ('Boot device not ready') and it appears that everyone has moved to HP-UX IA64 (Itanium) servers (for those using HP-UX).

The last supported version of MQ for HP-UX PA-RISC is v7.0 and it goes off support in September 2015.

I can get a refurnished HP-UX PA-RISC server on eBay for less $1000, so it is not a big deal (plus my time to set it up). But if nobody requires it then I will drop support which means dropping support for all product categories: commercial, 'Licensed As Free' & open source.

Note: This does NOT affect support on HP-UX IA64 (Itanium) servers.

So, it would be nice to hear from the HP-UX community. Should I 'forget about it' or 'support it for a couple more years'?

Regards,

I don't use HP-UX (which should be a response on the poll, so you know people are not ignoring it!)

Can the disk drive be connected to an intel pc? If so, then you might want to try SpinRite https://www.grc.com/srreview.htm to see if it can repair the data on the misbehaving disk.

I think it is a SCSI drive and I longer have a SCSI controller plus SpinRite only handles FAT partitions. I serious doubt HP-UX uses FAT. I have a backup of everything that was on the server, so I don't need to recover anything.
