I want to use shared inbound channel based on sysplex distributor.

However, I am wondering if the application which consumes the MQ message from the shared queue can also run on the same instance of LPAR as sysplex distributor.

The concern is:
If the sysplex distributor runs on LPAR1, and inbound channel on LPAR1 receives the message, and put it to shared queue. Since the application is also running on the LPAR1, the concerns is the message is always picked up by the application on LPAR1, and no chance for application LPAR2. If this happens, then there will be no load balance.

Could you please kindly clarify this will happen or it will never happen?

Thans

Sysplex Distributor is used for the connection load balancing of channels inbound to the Queue-sharing group. The connections are workload balanced across all the LPARs including the LPAR where SD is running.

SD is not involved when it comes to choosing where to start the outbound channel nor is it involved when choosing which MQGETter is given the message.
