Hi,
I have a requirement, where in have to create a message set to parse the fixed length incoming message.
In the message, all the fields are fixed length, except the last field which can be of differect length each time.
Ex:
Message1:
f1,msg,1234
Message2:
x1,txt,112323123
Please help how this can be specified in the message set.
I am using WMB 6.1 |

First, you create a message definition that can handle identifying the different fields in your message.
Then you modify this message definition to know how to process each field - make sure it knows where the fields are and what type they are.
Then you modify this message definition to determine what the length of the last field in this particular message is. And configure the last field in the message definition to use that information.
There are topics in the Knowledge Center/ v6.1 documentation that describe each of these steps.
You should not be using v6.1. Your customer/ company should not be using v6.1.
You should either make sure they understand that, or find an alternate job that takes these things more seriously.
Or continue to struggle and expect to encounter problems that simply can't be fixed. |
