Hi Everyone,

I installed Ubuntu 14.04 and in it IIB v9. Everything was fine.

Then I uninstalled Firefox. Since I couldn't reinstall again from software center, I installed tar file manually from the site.

Firefox opens well however Toolkit Help or Infocenter doesn't open from Toolkit->Help.

Please help me in this regard. It throws an error File at /usr/lib/firefox missing. I installed firebug add-on as well. I am not sure what it is expecting.

So did you previously have an executable or a symbolic link in /usr/lib/ called firefox ?? Do you perhaps still have one but it is pointing at nothing / nowhere??

I am not sure about previous setup.

Presently it has a distribution folder

/usr/lib/firefox/distribution/searchplugins/locale/en-GB is the only folder
amazon-en-GB.xml duckduckgo.xml twitter.xml
bing.xml eBay-en-GB.xml wikipedia.xml
chambers-en-GB.xml google.xml yahoo-en-GB.xml
are the files present inside 'em.

I find that in Toolkit, the parameters that are given to Firefox for it to open help is

-fireclipse -profile ${webtools.debug.profile} -no-remote

Any help is appreciated.

For now, I have installed Infocenter seperately and using it. However it isn't integrated with toolkit.

Any ideas on how to integrate it manually?!

Thanks!

Lets go back to the beginning.

How did you uninstall firefox?

If you used the Ubuntu package manager then why can't you re-install it with a simple 'apt-get'?

I've never had this issue with RHEL/CentOS.

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions.
