Came across at least a couple of posts on here where people refer to remote bar file deploys as not recommended. I did not see any reference to such a recommendation in the infocenter. Is it in fact true? if so can you please shed some light on why it might be the case?
It all depends on the size of your barfile and the speed of your network.
I used to have a deployment machine that was located on Unix. All deployments originated from that machine as it was in a subnet that had easier access to the brokers than any machine in the development environment, or build machine... _________________ MQ & Broker admin

We do not have any specific recommendations when it comes to deploying
a bar to a local server vs a remote server. The only concerned would
be if there is any lag in the network connectivity to the remote server
itself but not in the execution of the mqsideploy command.
As a general statement, connectivity to local broker is preferable
specially if the remote server are in other GEOs/locations.
