I am new to the MQ Clustering. While reading the PDF, I came to know that the cluster-sender channel is automatically get created by referring the definition of a corresponding cluster-receiver channel of the repository QM. But my question is if I add a new QM in a cluster then at that time repository QM automatically creates new cluster-receiver channel for that new QM? Because without having the definition of a cluster-receiver channel on the other end, the newly added QM won't be able to create automatically a cluster-sender channel.

Is that its official title?

I seem to recall a manual called SC34-6933-01 WebSphere MQ Queue Manager Clusters. Is that the one?

It would help if in future posts you would be a bit more precise.

Channels used in WMQ clusters come in several types:

CLUSRCVR channels are used to identify to other queue-managers is the cluster how other they are to create CLUSSDR, CLUSSDRA, or CLUSSDRB channels, as needed, to other cluster queue-managers.

CLUSSDR channels are used to explicitly connect to a Full Repository. Their role is to introduce a queue-manager into the cluster.

CLUSSDRA channels are automatically created, as needed.

CLUSSDRB channels are channels that were explicitly defined, AND replaced by a cluster queue-manager.

When you "add a qmgr to a cluster", its CLUSRCVR definition is sent to the full repositories. Then later it will be sent by them onward to any other qmgrs that need it. All of the qmgrs will use that CLUSRCVR definition to define their CLUSSDRs. Does this answer your question?

In order for a qmgr to join a cluster, it must have a CLUSRCVR channel that points back to itself; AND a CLUSSDR channel to a full repository.
