Hi,

I am testing Database nodes for my understanding. I have created a small message flow. MQInput ---> Compute--->DatabaseInsert

input is XML Message and using XMLNSC parser and compute node simply copies the incoming XML Message.

I have an input message set to validate the incoming message and created a table in db2 database.

When I want to insert message into table, during the mapping, I can't see the data objects Items at target pane. How does this works? I can I see the tables created in my Db2 db appear in Toolkit?

Do what ever fits your needs. Be aware of the options you have:

You can just insert with an ESQL Compute Node

Within the Compute Node you can use the SQL's native commands within a "PASSTHRU"

Or ESQL's "SELECT" and "INSERT"

I usually use ESQL and PASSTHRU

If not I'd use ESQL and it's functions

The mapping node (esp. together with "table definitions") would be my last resort

Of course yes, because you are an experienced WMB guy. But table definitions can be useful for ESQL as well.
