Hi Experts,

I have 3 Queue Managers in Cluster called 'TEST_CLUSTER'. (Its my local machine runnin MQ 7.5 Trial Version)

INTEST1S1 - FULL REPOSITORY
INTEST1S2 - FULL REPOSITORY
INTEST1S3 - PARTIAL REPOSITORY

INTEST1S1
DEFINE QALIAS (ROUTING.QUEUE) TARGQ (ROUTING.QUEUE.IN)

INTEST1S2 & INTEST1S3 has the below :
DEFINE QLOCAL (ROUTING.QUEUE.IN) CLUSTER(TEST_CLUSTER)

I tried to put the messages on ROUTING.QUEUE and as expectedthe messages are reaching to the queue , ROUTING.QUEUE.IN of both the Queue
managers randomely.

I then altered teh defination of ROUTING.QUEUE.IN to make DEFBIND(NOTFIXED).
Then I started to put cuntniously 24 messages in the ROUTING.QUEUE of INTEST1S1 QM.
This time also messages reouted to ROUTING.QUEUE.IN of both the Queue managers(INTEST1S2 & INTEST1S3), but in balanced way.

i.e. messages were reaching to the queue 'ROUTING.QUEUE.IN' alternatevely (& not randmoly as mentioned in the 1st case.

But I still not clear with the significance of DEFBIND attribute.
Please help me to understand it in details.

What don't you understand? Your tests has shown two of the three results available with the options availabel for this Queue PAram.

describes the other one. These same ones are available (AFAIK) for V7.5.

Search for other posts here about load balancing.

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions.

Search google for DEFBIND attribute, and its possible values.
