Happy New Year!

We will be doing a technology refresh from S-Series 74008 to the NS2200 utilizing the Itanium 9300 CPU's (4). Wanted to see if anyone would have an approximate units we will be charged!

Thanks

74008 is 8 Processors x 1 core @ 100 PVUs per core = 800 PVUs. HP NS2200 (which has severe processor faults without the October 2012 maintenance applied) has up to 4 processors x 4 cores = 16 cores @ 100 PVUs per core = 1,600 PVUs.

Check with your IBM sales rep for pricing. An alternate way to calculate capacity is RVU.

You can do alot better than HP server technology. What drives this brand decision? For bang-for-the-buck and pure horsepower, it's the least attractive choice.

Thanks for the heads up on the issue!

You're welcome. A beefy x86 server with Red Hat Enterprise Linux will run circles around the NS2200/HP-UX both in terms of TPS and cost.
