I've just started working with MQSeries on java on nt 4.0.
I'm not able to understand the concept of the diff types of requets
and the relation between mess id and corr id.i tried some sample codes
but could not get the logic clearly.
the docs states that if i have a message of the type request and
i specify a replytq and replytoqmanager .now if i put a mess in a que say
a/c no
then in reply i shud get the a/c details.
how do i achieve this programatically ?
if anyone could just give the logic i would work on it.

The MessageId and CorrelationId are a couple of field in the Message Descriptor (MQMD). They allow you to match request messages with reply messages. The convention is to send a message over with the message id set. You then send back your reply so that the correlation id equals the incoming message id. I thought that there were some samples in the Software Repository.

Vandana,
The software repository he is referring to is part of this site. If you go to http://www.mqseries.net, on the main page you should see a link that says "Software Repository" Similary, from the message forum area (where you are right now), you can click on the link called "Code Repository" in the top right hand corner. This will take you to a part of the site where you can download sample programs that illustrate MQSeries concepts, like MsgId/CorrelId for instance...
