Has anyone successfully created a qmgr with MQ Series 5.3 and used the suggested file system layout in this support pac?? i.e. /mqha/data/ and /mqha/log ??
when we start up this queue manager we get a number of FDC's with probe ids' zx005030, zx005025, zi095207, zf095010 and then the queue
manager dies.

creating a queue manager in /var/mqm/log and /var/mqm/data is fine. I have a PMR open with IBM, but would like to know if anyone else has encountered this problem with 5.3 and non-standard file
layouts???

The support pac hasn't been updated since Sep. 2001

I have heard back from the developer of MC6A and his response is ...

There were changes made in 5.3 that cause a problem when using the HAlog and data layout.
They are:
1. That the OAM fails an auth check because of the symlink from
/var/mqm/qmgrs/<qmname> to the HA filesystem directory for the qmgr.
Remove the symlink from the halinkmqm script and it works OK. The OAM is fixed by CSD03.
2. The new qmpersist directory needs to be added to the list of directories
that are moved and linked to, by the halinkmqm script.
With these two changes you should be OK.

Best regards,
Graham
