Hi folks, I'd like to have the broker automatically started when the Sun server comes up. I added the script to /etc/inittab to start the queue manager then start the broker. Only the queue manager gets started. I found nothing in the system to indicate what the problem was. (I've gone through all the steps to add a .profile to the root so that root can successfully start the broker. If I sign on as root, I can start the broker ok). What am I missing here ?
Thanks

When you run the satrtup script by hand, does it start? Is the database configured for use by the broker started before the broker? What errors are logged to the broker's message log destination?

When I ran the startup script manually (as root), the broker starts ok. As I mentioned, I didn't find anything in the message log indicating problem executing the script when the server was rebooted.
The script itself is very simple:
mqsistart brokername

I was able to run the script by issuing
su - userid -c "scriptname"
where userid is the broker's owner id

forgot to add:
this way, I can safely remove .profile from the root directory.
