We are designing a message router, and do not want to parse the data for routing information (ie. do not want to route based on the message content). The flow does no transformation, but simply routes data to the appropriate destination
Where is the best place in the message to put to the routing information? (MQMD, RFH2 etc. )

There are a few fields in the MQMD that can be used for simple routing but a far better solution is to use one of the optionsl folders in the RFH2 header.
I have used the 'usr' folder for this.
If the messages are coming from a JMS source then the user defined fields of the JMS folder could be what your want. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions.

Keeping this kind of information in the usr folder of the RFH2 header should also give you a much smoother transition to WMQv7 message properties which you can then filter on in selectors. _________________ /mårten.
