I have some servers that generate 15 mqseries messages per second. I want to include the queue manager on each of those servers to be part of a cluster. The cluster queue resides on the mainframe systems. It's a send and forget.
What performance implications should I be aware of when addding those qmgrs to the cluster?

How is it configured right now? Are those servers using client connections to talk to the mainframe right now, or do they have queue managers, but you are using static channels?

Oh, and is there more than one mainframe machine available (to take advantage of clusterings workload balancing) and would there ever be a need for the sending queue managers to send messages to one another, rather than to the mainframe only?

| The current configuration uses distributed queuing and doesn't send any messages to the mainframe. A new application going in will be sending to the mainframe systems. And yes, there are 4 mainframes, which is one reason why I want to implement clustering. Client connections are not involved in this topography. |
