We don't use MQe inhouse but I believe our monitoring package QPasa has the capability to monitor MQe

Enjoy

Interesting, a quick search of this website for "MQ" doesn't hit anything. Why in the world would someone post this?

Anyways, MQe is quite a bit different that WebMQ. Does anyone know of any vendor tools (such as QPasa) to monitor it? Supportpac ES06 can be used to configure and monitor MQe networks.

Oof, just searched the web for over 30min without finding any products that monitor MQ Express; what I have learned, though, is that Tivoli (TAM) does *not* support MQe, which I find a bit odd, MQe being part of IBM "take over the IT world" strategy and all...

So put me down on that question as well, anyone know any products that monitor MQe?

Well, I meant "Express"... you're must be hinting at the fact that this forum is called "MQ Everyplace" ... and that therefore... uhm...

Anyhow, back to the topic, there's something by contact admin called the "management API for IBM WebSphere MQ Everyplace" (mentioned here) that might be relevant.

I thought I saw some stuff in the MQEveryplace documentation about JMX support....

If I did, then anything that can speak JMX can monitor MQe.

I am looking at my QPasa stuff and you can monitor the MQe with it:
MQe Home Server Queues
MQe Local Queues
MQe Queue Managers
MQe Remote Queues
MQe Store and Forward Queues

Enjoy

Confirmed, the contact admin Announcement states:
Quote:
Melville, NY - November 10, 2002 - contact admin Technologies, a pioneer in end-to-end, real-time application process monitoring and automation software, today announced it is working with IBM and has created a JMX (Java Management Extensions) application programming interface (API) for IBM WebSphere MQ software. This API will enable any vendor of management tools that support JMX to manage WebSphere MQ Everyplace software functions.

Websphere MQ Everyplace ( aka MQe) supports JMX. One can develope a simple monitoring utility to monitor the MQe queues or you can use contact admin product to do the same.

Alternatively you can use Tivoli Universal monitoring client and configure to monitor MQe qmgrs.

Since MQe allready supports JMX you can quickly find a open source monitoring tool which would suites to your needs.

Cheers
Arun
