Yulia,

Here are the main steps I follow to rollout the MQ v9.0 Early Code to our MQ v7.1 QSG.

A note, we are running z/OS 2.2, with all the MQ libraries in Linklist/LPA. No MQ datasets accessed ...

Thank You. I had sort of come to that conclusion, but it is nice to get someone to confirm it.

I have downloaded MQ v8.0 and will proceed with that.

Yes, I am looking at the registry key at the proper level. After installing MQ v7.5 on Win2012R2, there is no HKey_Local_Machine\SOFTWARE\IBM\WebSphere MQ.

But I did find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTW ...

For MQ v7.5 on Windows, this IBM link (http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSFKSJ_7.5.0/com.ibm.mq.mig.doc/q001530_.htm?lang=en) states that the "high level" WorkPath Registry key ...

Reread the second sentence again, closely, and look at the section it is in.

For production systems you should, firstly, migrate the unsupported release of IBM® MQ to WebSphere® MQ version 7.1, f ...

Migrating the mainframe MQMs you can't skip releases. You will need to migrate the mainframe from 7.0 to 7.1.0 to 8.0

Are you sure about that?

This link talks about going from v7.0.1 OR v7.1 t ...

Reading the post tells me where it is (Charlotte), and I can deduce that z/OS is one of the platforms, it's pretty much a cert that Unix and Windows are in there somewhere!

Yeah, missed the Charlot ...

From what I can tell, with MQ V7.0.1, the Documentation is no longer being produced in PDF format. If that's true, does anyone else hate it too? I love the PDF docs...they are quite handy. I'm not ...

I have already upgraded one Queue Manager using QSG on a lightly used te ...

Does using Shared Queues in a QSG make a difference?
