Please use code tags for things like this. It really does make it a lot easier to read.
Code:

CDF? What do you mean by CDF?
PDF, CWF or what?

As I see it, you have a flat file that has no readily identifiable delimiters. How was this data produced?

And the sample file you've provided doesn't match the record layout in your original post.

ok. I have given the sample which relates to that main structure.it is a fixed length format.

CDF Format:

Self-describing data format for the storage and manipulation of scalar and multidimensional data in a platform- and discipline-independent fashion

Scientific data management package (known as the "CDF Library") which allows programmers and application developers to manage and manipulate scalar, vector, and multi-dimensional data arrays

That's a very odd definition of "self-describing" where you have a separate document that tells you how to interpret the fields in the actual data.

Sure.

But it's not in the actual DATA you receive, is it?

It's not like it lists the table and then lists the data?

XML is self-describing, in that every single piece of data is marked with a name - and you can parse it without knowing anything at all about the contents.

This appears to require that you create a model of what the data is expected to be, and then use the model to parse the document.

Welcome to Broker. This is day 2 of the training class. Good luck, happy reading, and please remember to READ, THINK, TRY, READ, THINK, TRY and *then* Post here for help.
